The Center for Commercial-Free Public Education
Booklet, 1999

The Center was founded in 1993 to protest Channel One's scheme to bring commercial-filled TV into the nation's classrooms under the guise of providing "educational programming." The Center was highly successful in fighting Channel One's expansion and sensitized many school districts, teachers and parents to the dangers of commercial marketing in America's schools.
