Japanese Citizens Concerned About Plutonium
Print ad, 1993

PMC produced several full-page newspaper ads alerting the international community to the dangers posed by Japan's plutonium shipments. A second Spanish-language ad appeared in Panama, a third in Australia, and a fourth in New Zealand—all following the path of the Japanese plutonium "death ship" around the world. As a result, a global network opposing plutonium shipping was established and formal opposition by the governments of several countries where the ad campaign appeared resulted in a temporary suspension of planned shipments by Japan's nuclear industry.
